Bharatpur News Desk: The verdict came on Thursday in the famous Dan Singh murder case of Bharatpur. Additional District and Sessions Court No. 2 convicted 5 people including a woman and sentenced them to life imprisonment. A trial was conducted against 7 people in the murder case. One accused died during the trial. Of the remaining six women, one was acquitted while five were sentenced to life imprisonment.
Public Prosecutor Bhagat Singh Surauta said – Dan Singh, resident of Sabora village of Kumher police station area of Deeg district, was Bharatpur block president and former sarpanch. He had a political rivalry with Ratan Singh of his own village. On September 11, 2017, Ratan Singh had sent shooters and fired on Daan Singh in Civil Lines area of Bharatpur. He died on the spot.
Police presented challan against 7 people in this case. These included the main accused Ratan Singh, three shooters Prahlad Singh, Ravindra and Shakir and Anek Singh, Guddi and Omwati. On Thursday, Sessions Court Judge Sitaram Meena gave the verdict.
Ratan Singh died during the trial. The verdict was pronounced today against six accused. Of these, Guddi was acquitted and the remaining five were sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each.
