Jhalawar : POCSO Court-1 Jhalawar’s special judge on Wednesday convicted the accused of raping a minor and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Besides, a fine of Rs 38 thousand has also been imposed.
Special Public Prosecutor Ramhetar Gurjar said that on January 1, 2022, the complainant had submitted a written report at the Mahila Police Station, Jhalawar, to the effect that her daughter had left home without informing at 11 pm on December 30, 2021. Later, the police traced the victim, conducted investigation and arrested the accused. That’s why the accused was in judicial custody.
The victim gave a statement to the police and told that the accused lured her into a truck, took her to Pithampura and raped her. On this, Special Public Prosecutor Ramhetar Gurjar, appearing on behalf of Rajasthan Government, presented 16 witnesses and 26 documents in the case. On the basis of which the court found the accused guilty and the special judge sentenced him to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 38 thousand.
The court has recommended financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the victim under the Victim Redressal Scheme in the case.
