Lives of 13 people trapped on the island of Chambal River, panic ensued, rescue operation carried out late at night

Jaipur : The calamity raining from the sky has put people in trouble. Late on Wednesday night, 5 villagers including 8 children who had gone to graze their cattle near Dawai Ki Khar village ahead of Bichhiya village got stuck on an island due to the surge in Chambal. The incident created panic among the villagers. The local district administration was informed about the matter. After about 4 hours of hard work, the administration has rescued everyone safely with the help of SDRF Self Defense.

Rescue operation continued till 2 am

Kotwali police station in-charge Pravendra Kumar Rawat said that on Wednesday late evening, some villagers and children had gone to graze animals in the forest near Dawai Ki Khar village of the police station area. Due to sudden rise in the Chambal river, 8 children and five people got stuck on the Chambal island. The incident spread panic among the villagers. On the instructions of District Collector Srinidhi BT and Superintendent of Police Sumit Mehrana, the search operation was started with the help of SDRF and Self Defense after reaching the spot. At 2:00 in the night, SDRF has successfully completed the search operation. All the people and children trapped on the island have been evacuated safely.

30-year-old Ram Ratan son of Motilal, 12-year-old Prince son of Naresh, 10-year-old Piyush son of Devendra, 10-year-old Mona son of Gopal, 8-year-old Kanha son of Gabbar Singh, 15-year-old Sonu son of Shripati, 40-year-old Nancy son of Ashok, 24-year-old Sunil son of Beniram, 65-year-old Manjha son of Motiram, 10-year-old Ritika daughter of Rinku, 15-year-old Anil son of Guddu, 30-year-old Devendra son of Sundar and 8-year-old Raunak daughter of Ashok have been rescued safely.

Rain alert in 13 districts today

The Jaipur centre of the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in 13 districts of Rajasthan on Thursday. Dholpur is also included in these. According to the notification, there is a possibility of light to heavy rains in Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Dausa, Baran, Jhalawar, Tonk, Jalore, Bundi, Kota, Jaipur and Bhilwara today. Due to this, people’s problems may increase. Waterlogging may also occur at some places.
