Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra will work together on agro-based industries: Mohan Yadav

Bhopal/Nagpur, 22 November (IANS). Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday said Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra will work together “not as one and one two, but as one and one eleven” to take agro-based industries to every home.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of Agro Vision National Agricultural Fair organized in Nagpur, Maharashtra, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that this is not just a fair, it has laid the foundation of a future prosperous country and state.

He said that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari is an adept ‘doctor’ in streamlining social systems. The state is identified on the basis of rural agriculture based activities. I appreciate that Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra governments are encouraging domestic industries like agriculture-based fisheries, animal husbandry, milk production in every household.

Mohan Yadav said that the focus is not only on production and productivity, the focus is also on providing adequate market for the products. A team of ministers and officials from Madhya Pradesh will be sent to observe and study the fair.

The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh government has implemented many schemes to increase the income of cow herders. He said, “We are believers of Shri Krishna, those who have a cow in their house are Gopal and those who have a cow in their house, that house is Gokul. In Marathi, the calf and heifer are called Gaura and Gauri. We have called the cow-herders We have planned to give Gauri in place of cow and raise them at our house and we will buy three cows for milk. If they sell, it will increase their income.”

He said that the government will build cow shelters in urban areas to provide shelter to destitute and such cows whose milk yielding capacity has reduced or has become zero and the cow herders have left them destitute. Bhoomi pujan of a cowshed with a capacity of 10 thousand cows is going to be held in Bhopal. This will also curb accidents caused by destitute cattle on the roads. The government has also decided to close prisons like Kanji House, Kheda in Madhya Pradesh. There is no justification for keeping mute animals in jail.
