Nimali Singh is accused of financial irregularities in the conference. Actually, under RUSA (National Higher Education Campaign) 2.0, the Home Science Department had received Rs 1 crore 83 lakh in November 2021. With this amount, the department had organized an international conference in March last year. Professor Nimali Singh was its organizing secretary. Many questions were raised on the expenditure incurred in this programme. 15 lakhs were spent on the event. In these, questions were raised on the mementos and sarees given to the guests. There were allegations that the bills given were also half incomplete. It was said that Nimali Singh had spent this to oblige her close ones. However then he had said that I had spent as per the rules. If any expense seems unreasonable, I am ready to pay. Now in the order issued by the university, it has been said that he will be suspended on charges of financial irregularities.

Nimali Singh called the allegation a conspiracy

When we talked to Professor Nimali Singh on this matter, he called the allegations against him a conspiracy. He said that the bill in dispute has not been paid. How is the audit being conducted without payment and how is action being taken on objections? The university administration had asked me for an answer, I had given them the answer. The Vice Chancellor wants to remove me from my post, that is why she has taken this action. They are taking action out of personal hatred. In the past too they had tried to remove me but the High Court had given a verdict in our favor in that case also. In this case also the truth will come out sooner or later. Responding to Nimali Singh’s allegations, University Vice-Chancellor Alpana Kateja said that the administration does not take action on the basis of personal hatred. Many investigations are going on against him. There are allegations of not attending classes, forging signatures, misusing his position and irregularities in the amount of RUSA. It has become clear in the investigation that he has committed financial irregularities. That’s why this action has been taken. No one is above university rules. Whatever goes wrong, action will be taken.
