Starting from Mandu in Madhya Pradesh and going to Etawah in UP via Rajasthan, Chambal River travels a distance of 960 km in three states. In this, due to flowing in the east direction in the religious city of Kaptan, Chambal has been given the same status as Mother Ganga in religious scriptures. There is a temple of Vishnu incarnation Lord Shri Keshavdev on a 100 feet high mound on the river bank. On Kartik Purnima, more than one and a half to two lakh devotees from the entire state take a holy bath and have darshan of Lord Shri Keshav. Due to Baikunth Chaturdashi falling on Thursday, devotees took holy bath throughout the day and availed the darshan of Lord Shri Keshavdev.
