Mahavikas Aghadi lost in Maharashtra due to greed for power: Prataprao Jadhav

New Delhi, November 28 (IANS). Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) and Shiv Sena MP Prataprao Jadhav has cited greed for power as the reason for the defeat of Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra.

He said that Mahavikas Aghadi was formed due to greed for power, there was no common ideology among its members. The recent Maharashtra elections proved that Uddhav Thackeray abandoned Balasaheb’s principles and Hindutva ideology, which is why he has been rejected by the public. Uddhav Thackeray has started worrying about his vote bank and soon there is going to be a split in Mahavikas Aghadi. They cannot remain united, all the constituent parties will be seen separately in the coming days.

He said that a grand alliance government is going to be formed in Maharashtra. All decisions will be taken unanimously. The mandate that the people have given us during the elections is clear. All parties are united. Yesterday our leader Eknath Shinde also said in front of the media that there is no problem. Maharashtra government will be formed soon. The CM’s face will be announced in a day or two.

While addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Maharashtra’s acting Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, “I have spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I told him that there is no hindrance from our side in forming the government. You take the decision, whatever decision the BJP takes, that The decision will be implemented. I tell you today that the decision taken by the senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the candidate of the BJP will have the full support of Shiv Sena.

‘Mahayuti’ alliance has got a huge majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. BJP, which is part of the grand alliance, has won 132 seats, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena has won 57 seats and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has won 41 seats.
