Jaipur : Rohit Joshi, son of Mahesh Joshi, who was a cabinet minister in the previous Gehlot government, has not got relief from the Delhi High Court in the rape case. The petition presented in the Delhi High Court was heard on Thursday, 26 September. In the petition, Rohit Joshi had demanded the cancellation of the FIR lodged by the victim. The court has rejected Rohit Joshi’s petition. Now the sword of arrest is hanging over Rohit Joshi in this case.

Let us tell you that advocate Shivmangal Sharma was present on behalf of the victim in the case. The victim’s lawyer said that it is not illegal to register a zero FIR as a regular FIR. He said that these allegations should not be dismissed without hearing the complainant’s side, because this case is related to serious allegations. It was also told that when Mahesh Joshi was in power in Rajasthan, a false case was filed against the woman and she was pressured to withdraw the complaint. The court has fixed the next hearing of this case on October 25.
These cases are registered against Rohit Joshi
It is noteworthy that the victim had lodged an FIR against Mahesh Joshi’s son Rohit Joshi at Sadar Bazar Police Station in Delhi on 9 May 2022. In the FIR lodged, the girl had accused Rohit Joshi of rape, forced incest and not fulfilling the promise of marriage. Rohit Joshi has been charged under sections 376, 328, 312, 377 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
The victim made these allegations
Let us tell you, in the complaint given to Delhi Police, the victim had informed that she came in contact with Rohit Joshi through social media in 2020. The victim had alleged that in 2021, Rohit took the girl to Sawai Madhopur and mixed intoxicants in her drink and then raped her forcefully. Apart from this, the victim alleged that Rohit also made videos and took pictures of her without her consent. Later, Rohit kept raping her forcefully for several days by blackmailing her with these videos and pictures. At the same time, Rohit Joshi has described the whole matter of honeytrap in the petition.
