‘Man-eater’ leopard in Udaipur becomes headache for forest department, no trace even on 13th day, search operation continues

Udaipur News Desk: There is no trace of the man-eating panther in Gogunda, Udaipur even on the 13th day. Different teams of the Forest Department have been formed and the search operation is being carried out throughout the night. In this operation, army soldiers are monitoring the whole night with cameras. Besides, police personnel have been deployed in the cages installed by the Forest Department. During this, DFO Ajay Chittaura, SDM Dr. Naresh Soni, Tehsildar Om Singh Lakhawat and SHO Shaitan Singh Nathawat were also present. Panther movement was also seen near the drain late at night. There is an atmosphere of fear among the villagers due to the continuous movement of Panther. At the same time, the villagers are also ready with the administration with sticks, axes and other weapons in their hands.

There is an order to shoot a man-eating leopard on sight.

In the last 11 days, the panther has made 8 people victims. After which the government has also given orders to shoot the leopard on sight. Rajasthan Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma had said that efforts are being made to catch the man-eating leopard. If he is not caught, he can also be ordered to shoot at sight. After which many shooters have been called to Gogunda from Ranthambore, Jodhpur and Udaipur.

The panic in the area is such that people start screaming as soon as the sound comes.

Villagers say that leopards sometimes hunt animals, but never attack humans like this. They used to roam freely in the open, but this is the first time that they are continuously attacking humans. Due to the increasing number of deaths due to leopards, the village has been transformed into a cantonment. The atmosphere of fear is such that no one thinks of coming out of their house after dark. As soon as there is even the slightest sign of the leopard’s presence, sounds of screaming start coming in the village.
