Many big faces missing on the first day of Congress Working Committee meeting

Bhopal, November 21 (IANS). Congress, which is continuously losing elections in Madhya Pradesh, has intensified preparations to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level. On the first day of the State Working Committee meeting which started from Thursday in the capital, emphasis was laid on forming committees at ward and panchayat level.

All India Congress Committee general secretary state in-charge Jitendra Singh also attended the meeting. The meetings of the party’s political affairs committee, state executive, permanent invitees and special invitees were held in two shifts at the state Congress headquarters under the chairmanship of State Congress Committee President Jitu Patwari. In these, discussions were held on the strength of the organization from booth, division, sector, block to district and state level.

It was decided in the meeting that Ward Congress Committee will be formed in all the urban body areas of the state and Gram Panchayat Congress Committee will be formed at the Gram Panchayat level. Apart from this, Mohalla Congress Committees will also be formed in which it was discussed to include 30 to 40 houses in each booth. Members of Mohalla Congress Committee and Gram Panchayat Committee will also be members of the Booth Committee.

In the meeting, there was discussion on holding the convention of State Congress representatives between 20th February to 20th March 2025. Along with the training program of Congress officials at different levels, their responsibilities were determined and the role of workers was discussed.

The State Working Committee meeting will also be held on Friday. Many big faces were not seen on the first day. Congress has claimed that prominent leaders will be seen in the meeting on the second day. Many decisions are also said to be taken on the second day of the working committee meeting.
