Jaipur : Luxury flats have been built in front of the Vidhan Sabha for the MLAs of Rajasthan, but all the MLAs have not yet shifted to them. About fifty MLAs have still not been allotted government accommodation. Here, the Vidhan Sabha has sent a proposal to the government to increase the house rent from fifty thousand rupees to thirty thousand rupees again in lieu of not taking government accommodation. Now the government has to take a decision on this. The previous Congress government had decided to demolish the old houses of the MLAs and build luxury flats. 160 flats were built for the MLAs in front of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha. The purpose of this was that all the MLAs should live in one place, because the earlier MLA residences were built at different places in the capital and had become very old. The previous government also inaugurated the new flats.
After the new government came into power, applications for these houses came in. About 120 MLAs have started living in these flats and one or two MLAs are living in government houses in Gandhinagar. 25 bungalows have been allotted to the CM, Speaker of the Assembly and ministers in Civil Lines and Gandhinagar. About fifty MLAs have still not applied for government houses. Out of the flats built for MLAs, about 35 flats are lying vacant.
If flats are built then a proposal to reduce the rent is sent
Before the formation of the new government, the MLA houses were completed. On this, the Vidhan Sabha has sent a proposal to the state government to increase the rent allowance given to the MLAs from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month. The government now has to take a decision on this.
When MLA’s residence was demolished, the government increased the rent
When the houses of MLAs were demolished in the previous government, it was said that it is not possible to get a house on rent of thirty thousand rupees per month. Some MLAs did not vacate the government houses. It was decided that all the MLAs will be given Housing Board flats at concessional rates. Everyone was given flats at concessional rates and the rent allowance was also increased from thirty thousand rupees to fifty thousand rupees. After this, the old MLA houses could be vacated.
