Churu : atrocities against women are not decreasing in the state. Cases related to dowry harassment keep coming up every day. The latest case has come up from Churu district of the state. Where to get five lakh rupees from her parents, the cruel husband tied his wife with chains, kept her hungry for several days, beat her. His brutality did not stop here and he even scratched his wife’s nails with a pliers. Now the police have registered a case against the cruel husband. The woman has been admitted to the government hospital for treatment.
Kept chained in a room built in the farm
The incident is from Bhadasar Utrada village of Sardarshahar tehsil of Churu district. According to the allegations, 40-year-old Suman Jat of Bhadasar Utrada village was beaten up by her husband for not bringing 5 lakh rupees from her parents’ house. According to the victim, her husband kept her tied with chains in a room in the field for 5-6 days and beat her up badly and even scratched her nails with a plier.

The wife said that for the last 6 months, her husband Bhaira Ram did not allow her to talk to her parents. Her husband said that he would leave her only when she brings 5 lakh rupees from her parents. She was kept hungry for many days. She was beaten up and her toenails were pulled out with an iron rod. The police have registered a case and started investigation.

On Saturday, the victim somehow managed to escape from her husband’s clutches and reached her elder sister and after which she was admitted to the government hospital. The victim told in her report that she was married about 22 years ago. After marriage, my husband used to beat me up by constantly taunting me for less dowry. After the counseling of the family members, the matter was settled many times. But his beating did not stop.
