Martyr Vinod Singh Shekhawat merges into Panchatatva in Jhunjhunu Kajra village

Jhunjhunu : Jhunjhunu Surajgarh Army Havildar Vinod Singh Shekhawat was cremated with military honors in his native village Kajra on Tuesday. His mortal remains reached Surajgarh in the morning. From where the body was taken to his village Kajra residence along with the Tricolor Yatra. Flowers were showered on the way from JCB. District Collector Ramavatar Meena offered two flower circles. One from Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the other from the district administration. Whereas daughters Nancy and Khushi said that they are proud of their father’s martyrdom. Whereas 10 year old son Rajyavardhan lit the funeral pyre. There was a sad atmosphere in the village. Army officials and the District Collector presented the martyr’s army dress and tricolor to both the daughters and the son. Earlier, when the mortal remains reached and Veerangana Suman Kanwar was brought for her last darshan, Veerangana hugged her body and cried. Seeing this everyone became emotional. The daughters also hugged the District Military Welfare Officer and started crying to bring their father back.

Officials from the army said that his health deteriorated while on surveillance duty at 11:40 pm on 23 November. He was taken to Shija Hospital and Research Institute located in Imphal (Manipur). There he breathed his last at around 2:30 in the night. After this, the body reached the village on Tuesday morning. Earlier on Monday late evening, the martyr’s mortal remains reached Jaipur airport. Where the army unit gave him a guard of honour. After this he was taken to the Army Hospital in Jaipur. The body left for village Kajra along with an army contingent at 5:30 am on Tuesday from the Army Hospital in Jaipur. At around 10 o’clock the body reached Surajgarh and Kajda.
