Jaisalmer : On the call of Jaisalmer Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan through Assistant Engineer in the entire district due to the privatization taking place in the electricity department under the MBC model at the entire Rajasthan state level. Mahipal Singh Panwar, District Minister of Jodhpur Electricity Distribution Corporation Labor Union, said that during this time it was informed that if there will be privatization in the Electricity Corporation, then the future of the employees is looking dark. Through the memorandum, the Joint Struggle Committee urged that clear rules And despite instructions, they are not stopping EPF deduction and starting GPF deduction. Issue instructions with immediate effect to the concerned officers of the administration and get the GPF deduction started by allocating GPF account. If this is not done, the organization will gherao the office of Superintendent Engineer Jaisalmer on 28th November in the interest of the employees. Electricity and Revenue officers Chetanprakash Zorawar, Tarun Kumar, Roopram, Krishna Kumar, Khangarram, Himtaram, Sawai Singh, Mangilal, Narpatram, Narendra, Binjaram etc. submitted memorandums in the offices of Assistant Engineer located in Jaisalmer. Memorandum was also submitted in Jaisalmer Urban, Rural, Pokaran, Chandhan, Mohangarh, Fatehgarh subdivisions.
Pokaran Discom employees protested against privatization by boycotting work on Monday. During this protest, a memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister. Under the auspices of Rajasthan Vidyut Sanyukta Sangharsh Samiti, discom workers are protesting against privatization across the state. The works of electricity generation, transmission and distribution are being privatized by the government. Tenders have also been issued for this. Regarding this, a memorandum had been given earlier by the officers and employees demanding the government to stop the process of privatization. Whereas no positive action has been taken yet in this regard.
The officials of the committee submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister to the Executive Engineer and said that the work of production, transmission and distribution of electricity is being given to private hands by the government. Presently many works are being done through outsource, FRT, contracts and private participation under the names CLRC etc. Also, now the feeders of 33 KV grid are being outsourced and given to private hands in the name of segregation and solarization, which is also a violation of the Grid Safety Code. Also, handing over 33 KV grid to private hands under this model may pose a threat to the strategic security of the country and the state, during farmers’ and public’s movements, demonstrations and war. Apart from this, opportunities for permanent employment in the energy sector will also be lost in the state. Due to which the demand for employment will also increase. He said that the rule of appointing candidates who have done ITI is also being ignored. Due to which the dreams of permanent employment of qualified holders will also remain unfulfilled. He said that tender has been issued for installing smart meters in the state, but the government has imposed a ban in many states. He has demanded to proceed further by investigating in this regard. Similarly, there is a possibility of loss due to privatization of broadcasting corporation. He said that all the employees are protesting against privatization by boycotting work for one day on Monday. He has demanded to stop the process of privatization, recruitment of new employees, operation of grid sub-stations and thermal power generation plants through corporation employees. Also, to enable the employees to take full benefit of the OPS scheme, they have demanded to stop CPF deduction and start GPF deduction. He said that if immediate action is not taken on their demands, the agitation will continue across the state.
Expressed protest by protesting: Officers and employees boycotted work throughout the day on Monday in the Discom office premises of the town. They also staged a protest throughout the day. The employees raised slogans on the strike and expressed their opposition to privatization.
