Metihari Police’s ‘Operation Clean’, 26 rewarded criminals surrendered in 30 days, 28 arrested

Motihari, December 4 (IANS). Continuous efforts are being made to control criminals in Bihar. Under this, the East Champaran district police has started ‘Operation Clean’ campaign to crack down on criminals. The effect of this police campaign is now visible among the criminals.

If we look at the police figures, in the last 30 days, 26 rewarded criminals surrendered in the court, while 28 rewarded criminals have been arrested. The district police has also given an ultimatum to the absconding criminals to surrender by the end of this month. East Champaran (Motihari) Police is also taking action to confiscate the property of criminals who do not surrender, following the court order.

Motihari Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat had released a list in the month of November announcing rewards on 217 criminals across the district. These included criminals involved in heinous crimes like murder, robbery, dacoity, rape, dowry death, Arms Act and attempt to murder.

The Superintendent of Police had named the campaign ‘Operation Clean’ to arrest criminals with rewards. Apart from the police of police stations across the district, the list was handed over to DIU (District Intelligence Unit) and STF (Special Task Force) and the operation was started to arrest the criminals.

Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat tells IANS, “Instructions have also been given to assess the properties of those absconding criminals whose properties have been confiscated by the police.”

This step of the police not only forces the criminals to surrender before the law but also sends the message that property acquired through crime will not be safe. Due to this activism of Motihari Police, there is panic among the criminals in the district and the number of criminals surrendering is continuously increasing. This strict action of the police administration has sent a clear message that no matter how many attempts the criminals make, the police will foil every move of theirs.

The Superintendent of Police says that the result of this police campaign is that the confidence in the police is increasing among the local people. People are now ready to cooperate with the police and are also coming forward in giving information to the police. As a result, it is helping in catching the criminals.

He claimed that Motihari Police’s ‘Operation Clean’ campaign is not only a warning to the criminals but also shows that Bihar Police has now become fully active in giving strict punishment to the criminals for their misdeeds. . He said that this campaign can reduce the crime rate not only in Motihari but in entire Bihar.
