Jaisalmer : There is relief from cold wave in Jaisalmer district since last 2 days. However, the effect of winter is still strong. The weather remained clear on Thursday. The effect of winter has increased due to the cold winds blowing in the district. The minimum temperature has been hovering at single digits for the last four days. The effect of cold was strong on Thursday morning. People got relief from cold due to sunshine in the afternoon. But after evening the cold winds again chilled us. There was an effect of cold on Friday morning also, but after the arrival of the sun, people got relief from the cold. The Meteorological Department has predicted clear weather in the district for the next 4 days.
Effect of winter increased in canal area
On Thursday, a drop of 1 degree was recorded in the day’s mercury. The maximum temperature was recorded at 23.5 degrees and the minimum temperature was 7.8 degrees. There was a difference of 16 degrees between day and night. The effect of winter has increased in the canal areas as compared to the city. From the city to the canal area, people are seen trying hard to escape the cold. The Meteorological Department has predicted clear weather in the district for the next 4 days.
Cold is beneficial for farmers
Increase in cold during Rabi season is very beneficial for the farmers. It is noteworthy that till the last few days, the day temperature in Jaisalmer used to be more than 32 degrees. Due to this, a deep line of worry could be seen on the faces of the farmers. Now with the drop in temperature, the faces of farmers have started blooming. Now farmers will be able to sow the cumin crop comfortably because the winter season is favorable for the cumin crop.
