Sawai Madhopur : Local MLA and Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena has caught the open game of illegal gravel transportation. Minister Meena reached Rasoolpura village, one and a half kilometers away from Bhadauti police post on Kota-Lalasot Mega Highway at around 12 o’clock on Saturday night. Here he found half a dozen dumpers, trucks and trailers filled with illegal gravel standing on the roadside. The minister, who was traveling with a convoy of workers, caught these vehicles filled with gravel. Minister Meena immediately informed the District Superintendent of Police about the illegal gravel transportation. As soon as the information was received, the police system of the district became active. At midnight itself, Superintendent of Police Mamta Gupta, Additional Superintendent of Police and CO City along with local police also reached the spot. Where the police took the illegal gravel vehicles caught by the minister into custody and took them to the police station.
On the other hand, the gravel mafia panicked as soon as they got the hint of action by the minister on the highway. Dozens of dumper drivers fled after dumping gravel on different roads of the area. SP Mamta Gupta said that the minister had informed her about illegal transportation at night. After this, action was immediately taken against illegal transportation of gravel with the help of police force.
