Minorities are discriminated against in religion based state: Neeraj Kumar

Patna, 9 December (IANS). Janata Dal (United) chief spokesperson Neeraj Kumar spoke to IANS on Monday. He gave a strong reaction to PDP leader Iltija Mufti’s statement regarding Hindutva. Recently Iltija Mufti had described Hindutva as a “disease”.

On Iltija Mufti’s statement, Neeraj Kumar said that this country belonged to Mahatma Buddha and Mahatma Buddha had considered religion as a personal and spiritual experience, which was divided by sects. Lord Buddha is worshiped as the ninth incarnation of Vishnu and the Constitution is supreme regarding the religious diversity of this country. Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and Sikhism are all safe in this country. As long as the country has a Constitution, there is no threat to any religion. This may just be politics, but there is no discrimination between anyone regarding religion. Both Lord Rama and Lord Buddha are considered role models for the entire society and we should respect all those religions and traditions.

Neeraj Kumar also expressed concern over the attacks against the Hindu community in Bangladesh. He said that religion based states always violate the rights of minorities. Giving examples of Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh, he said that there is always discrimination against minorities in religion-based states. The visit of the Foreign Secretary is important to find a political solution to the incidents happening in Bangladesh.

On Mamata Banerjee’s desire to lead the ‘India’ block, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has said that everyone has to take the decision together. No consideration has been given to anyone’s name, this decision will be taken when everyone sits. Responding to this, Neeraj Kumar said that it is “a matter of concern for the indie alliance”. Tejashwi Yadav, who won four seats, is making fun of politics today. When it was time for the opposition alliance to contest elections, no decision was taken on the leadership, but now that they have come into the opposition, they are groaning politically.

He said that Tejashwi Yadav should stop his rhetoric, because the position of ‘India’ block in Bihar has become very weak. The treatment given to the alliance with the Left and Congress in Bihar has also become a cause of controversies.
