For this, Bhajan Lal government has presented a bill in the assembly in honor of the fighters. According to the information, the government intends to pass the bill in this session itself. A provision of Rs 40 crore has been made in the bill by Bhajan Lal government.
MISA prisoners will be called fighters for democracy
The bill related to MISA prisoners, presented in the Rajasthan Assembly on Tuesday, has provision for medical facilities and free travel in roadways for them. At the same time, prisoners who go to jail for political and social reasons during the Emergency will not be called MISA prisoners but democracy fighters. After the new bill is passed, the pension of prisoners will not stop. Along with this, on the death of a MISA prisoner, his wife or husband will be given pension.
Every month you get 20 thousand rupees as pension
A provision of Rs 40 crore has been made in the bill presented in the assembly. Let us tell you that in the first cabinet meeting, Bhajan Lal government had decided to give a pension of Rs 20,000 per month to the MISA prisoners of the state. The Vasundhara Raje government had started giving pension to MISA prisoners in Rajasthan in 2003. At that time, a pension of Rs 6000 per month and medical assistance of Rs 600 was announced.
Congress government stopped pension twice
After this, when the Congress government came to power in the state, the pension was stopped. When Vasundhara Raje’s government came to power in Rajasthan, it was announced that the pension would be increased from Rs 6000 to Rs 12000 and medical facility would be given Rs 1200. However, after Vasundhara Raje, when Ashok Gehlot’s government was formed in Rajasthan, it was stopped again.
