Barmer : Late night a thief broke the donation box of the temple and stole cash in Hanuman Bagechi of Ram Nagar located on Samdari Road of Balotra city. The incident occurred around 3 o’clock on Monday night, when Mahant Amritdas of the temple was sleeping in the temple premises.
Mahant Amritdas told that the thief entered the temple, broke the donation box and ran away with the cash kept in it. Nearly one year’s worth of donations were deposited in the donation box. Mahant told that he woke up after hearing the sound of the thief breaking the lock, but by the time he reached the spot, the thief had fled after stealing.
In the morning the Mahant informed the people nearby about the incident. Local people reached the spot and Balotra police was informed. Police immediately reached the spot and inspected the incident site. Police have registered the case and started searching for the thief.
The exact amount of cash present in the donation box has not been estimated yet. This theft incident has become a topic of discussion among the local residents. The police have appealed to the people that if anyone gets any information related to this incident, then immediately inform the police.
