Jaipur : The central government has allocated a railway budget of Rs 9959 crore to Rajasthan in the budget presented on Tuesday. Due to which there will be a focus on security and infrastructure along with expansion of rail passenger facilities in the state. In this regard, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information through a video conference on the provisions made for Indian Railways in the presented budget on Wednesday evening. Railway Minister Vaishnav said that Rajasthan is a big state. It is also an important state from a strategic point of view. From 2009-14, Rajasthan used to get an average of Rs 682 crore per year. Now Rs 9959 crore has been allocated. This is the highest till date. Railway development work is also happening rapidly in Rajasthan. Currently, work worth Rs 51 thousand 814 crore is going on here. 85 stations are being made state-of-the-art under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Not only this, in the last 10 years, 1475 flyovers and underpasses have been built on railway tracks in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, General Manager of North Western Railway Amitabh said that whatever work has been given, it will be completed in the stipulated time. He said that the state government is cooperating in land acquisition for railway projects.
Railway accidents reduced by 60 percent
Speaking about rail accidents in the VC, Railway Minister Vaishnav said that rail accidents are a matter of human sensitivities. Every life is precious, work is being done on this assumption. He said that rail accidents have reduced by 60 percent as compared to ten years ago. He also gave information about the Kavach system. Talking about the construction of Vande Bharat trains and Amrit Bharat trains, he said that a Vande Bharat train is coming every seven to ten days. The testing process of the sleeper version of Vande Bharat and Vande Bharat Metro is going on.
