Banswara : Lord Indra has been kind to Banswara district, which is called Cherrapunji of Rajasthan, for the last 56 hours. The district has been experiencing heavy rains for the last two days, which has completely affected the life of the people. This rain has created situations of happiness and sadness at some places. The happy thing in the district is that due to this rain, all the rivers and streams have overflowed and all the waterfalls of the district have started flowing. If we talk about the dams, the inflow of water is continuously going on in all the dams of the district.
Water is continuously coming in the biggest Mahi Bajaj Sagar Dam of the district. The water level of the dam has reached 278.20 meters. The total filling capacity of the dam is 281.50. At the same time, the second biggest Survania Dam of the district has also been filled to the brim. The gates of the dam are open on the second day also. The Kangdi Dam of the city has also been filled to the brim. At the same time, this rain has also affected the life of the common people. Many big trees fell in the district due to this rain, due to which many roads remained closed for hours, many bridges and culverts built on drains and rivers were flooded with water, due to which the bridges were also broken. Not only this, at some places kutcha houses have also collapsed. In Sunni village of the district, an innocent child has also died due to the collapse of a wall.
Farmers have also suffered heavy losses due to this rain accompanied by strong winds. Most of the maize and sugarcane crops in the district have fallen sideways, causing damage. On the other hand, if we talk about the roads, they have also broken. Due to this heavy rain, most of the villages in the district have not received electricity supply for the last 50 hours. People of many villages had to spend the night in darkness. After the heavy rain in the district, the district administration is on alert mode. Collector Dr. Indrajit Yadav has given strict instructions to all the SDMs, Tehsildars and Patwaris of the district and officers of other departments and said that all the officers should go to every village and see the situation, wherever the common people are facing problems, try to remove it. The DM has also appealed to the general public that people should not go to places with strong currents, in view of the rain, the DM has declared a holiday in government and private schools of the district today.
