Jaipur News Desk: Every day many patients are being cheated in the name of treatment in private hospitals under the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) run for government employees and pensioners. There are some private hospitals in the capital Jaipur itself, which have accepted this scheme only for their own benefit. These hospitals treat RGHS patients when there is less crowd. Due to overcrowding, patients are being forced to go back on some pretext or the other.
Employees and pensioners are facing such a situation when the state government deducts from their salaries every month in the name of medical facilities. In return, the state government provides cashless outdoor and indoor treatment facilities in government and identified private hospitals. The RGHS scheme was started on the lines of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) of the previous Congress government and the Central Government. At that time, due to the dispute between the government and private hospitals, many private hospitals had stopped cashless treatment. Then the patients were told in the hospitals that the money for their treatment would be reimbursed from the state government. After this the government changed and this scheme moved away from the priority of the state government. Now the situation is such that employees and pensioners are pleading for reimbursement of lakhs of rupees for their treatment, but they are not being heard.
One hospital refused, the other showed waiting
A government employee working in Jaipur and his ten-year-old daughter contracted dengue. RGHS) reached the selected private hospital for consultation. Treatment here was refused saying that there is a crowd of general patients. Therefore, RGHS patients will not be seen today. He protested, but no one listened. After this he went to another private hospital. There were many counters for general patients, but at the RGHS counter he was given the 350th token number. Tired and defeated, he went back and got treatment at another place by paying money. The employee told that at both the places, employees were ready at the counter for immediate treatment by paying cash.
Treatment cost more than 1.25 lakh, no reimbursement received
Vinod Jain, a retired pensioner from the water supply department, got himself treated in a big private hospital in Jaipur by paying money under compulsion. Due to the dispute between the state government and private hospitals, this hospital had also stopped cashless treatment. They were told that their money would be reimbursed.
