Bikaner : The condition of higher secondary level schools in the state is very bad. Upper primary schools are mostly running on the basis of one teacher. This is the situation of the Education Department, the largest department of the state in terms of number of employees. The number of vacant posts in primary and secondary education has crossed almost one and a half lakh.
Diwali vacation has started in government schools from 25th October. Half yearly examinations will start in December. In such a situation, students will not be able to complete their curriculum in schools lacking teachers. The main reason for the worsening of the situation is considered to be the simultaneous upgrading of hundreds of schools in the state. The previous Congress government simultaneously upgraded 3828 secondary schools of the state to higher secondary. No arrangements were made for necessary subject lecturers and senior teachers.
Three and a half lakh posts approved in secondary education
More than three and a half lakh posts of officers and personnel from Director to Class IV are sanctioned in the Education Department. Except Director, 100% posts of any category are not filled. In secondary education, only 245895 personnel are working on 370891 sanctioned posts. That means one lakh 24 thousand 996 posts are vacant. In primary education, more than 25 thousand level first and second level posts of teachers are vacant.
Case 1- There are 286 students enrolled in Raumavi Bhanwariya of Sevda Block. There are 18 sanctioned posts of teachers here. There are only three working teachers. The course is not being completed.
Case 2 – Raumavi of Faglia Block upgraded in 2014. In this, 22 posts of teachers are sanctioned. Whereas only four are employed. There are 380 students enrolled here.
The post will be filled in two years
The process to fill the vacant posts in the education department has been started. Not a single post will be left vacant in the department in the next two years. Along with filling all the sanctioned posts, necessary new posts will also be created.
Madan Dilawar, Education Minister
Due to teachers’ posts, the syllabus is not completed on time. If DPC is held from time to time, the problem of vacant posts can be solved to a great extent. Along with teachers, the government should also fill the posts of other categories of personnel on time.
