Dungarpur : the former board of Dungarpur Municipal Council had constructed a working track of about half a kilometer long near the Gap Sagar Lake at the Tehsil intersection of the city. But at present it is becoming a victim of neglect by the council. Now tourists do not come here but now it has become a center of luxury for alcoholics. As soon as the evening comes, anti-social elements start camping here. After drinking alcohol, glass is scattered everywhere due to bottles being broken on the trek. Due to neglect and maintenance work of the council, the track has become overgrown with weeds. Various types of flower pots were planted along the track, which were vandalized by anti-social elements.
The children of the city had done different types of wall paintings on the walls and had shown the cleanliness and beauty of the city through the paintings of various tourist places and centers of the city including Bharat Mata, Badal Mahal, Fahtegarhi, Bird Century Park, but now it is completely blurred. It’s over. In fact, during the tenure of the former Chairman, Gap Sagar Pal Walking Track was constructed near the Tehsil intersection in the year 2020. Along with this, a laughing gallery worth about Rs 1.50 lakh was constructed here. But within two years, in 2022, all the 12 glasses installed in the Laughing Gallery were removed by the Council.
Due to this, after tourists stopped coming to the trek, the council closed the walking trek by locking its doors. Every day, domestic and foreign tourists gather to see the city of Dungarpur, which has created its own identity across the country. In such a situation, a tourism assistance center was set up by the council to help the tourists coming here. Apart from providing information about various beautiful and tourist places of the city, staff were also deployed at the center to help. The Council continued to run the Tourism Help Center for about three years, but the Council gradually started locking the Help Center. Due to which now the tourists coming to the city go to Gapsagar Pal and Fatehgarhi due to lack of information about the city. Whereas there were about 10 to 12 more tourist places in the city itself. Where now only a few tourists are coming. Presently this is its condition.
