Municipal Council owes more than Rs 2 crore to Dungarpur Discom.

Dungarpur : Dungarpur Municipal Council has outstanding of more than two crore rupees on its discom. Due to this, on Tuesday, Discom disconnected the connections of Badal Mahal, Marriage Bhawan, Atal Bihari Community Building. However, after talks late in the evening, connections were reconnected. Council has outstanding dues to roadlights and commercial establishments. Notices are also being given to the Municipal Council by the Discom.

The Municipal Council’s bill of Rs 1 crore 95 lakh 56 thousand 584 is still pending only for road lights. At the same time, about Rs 11 lakh is left with the commercial institutions of the council. The amount for road lights is outstanding for the last one and a half year. About Rs 1 crore 70 lakh is left for this last financial year. At the same time, Rs 25 lakh is outstanding from April to November this year. The residents of the city are bearing the brunt of the Municipal Council not paying the light bills on time. Electricity is being supplied from the Municipal Council generator for marriage ceremonies in the marriage hall of the city. A citizen of the city had booked a marriage hall for a marriage ceremony on 26th and 27th November for Rs 91 thousand.

On Monday, the connection of the council’s marriage hall was disconnected. Due to this, the council provided light to the party by pouring 30 liters of diesel in the morning. It was over in just 4 hours. On talking, the council personnel misled the party and said that the power shutdown is going on now so the lights will come on. Hurry up, so if you need it now, please bring diesel. When the council was contacted, it was found that the marriage hall connection had been disconnected. Panchayat quarters were built in front of the District Collector’s residence on Udaipur Road. In which there are quarters of District Chief, MLA and Pradhan. In this, about 90 thousand rupees are due to the District Chief and about 60 thousand rupees to the MLA. Late in the evening, after Commissioner Lokesh Patidar explained the current circumstances to the Electricity Corporation and assured to resolve the issue soon, the Electricity Corporation got the electricity connection connected in the marriage hall.
