Nagaur Administration did not reach out to take care of helpless Surtaram’s family

Nagaur : The condition of Surtaram, resident of Delolav Road in the city, is not improving. About four years ago, a shock while sleeping at night stopped the movement of 55-year-old Surtaram’s hands and legs. Due to nerve block his hands and legs became stiff. Due to this, he is dependent on innocent daughters even for daily work. Wife Parmadevi is mentally challenged and polio affected by birth. Earlier, Surtaram used to take care of himself as well as her, now both the husband and wife are dependent on their innocent daughters for everything from getting up and sitting to daily activities to eating and drinking.

After disabled Surtaram and his mentally challenged and polio-afflicted wife Parmadevi became helpless, a mountain of sorrow fell on the family. There is no one to earn in the family. They are not getting the benefits of any government schemes including BPL families, food security. Both husband and wife get a disability pension of Rs 2,000 per month under the Social Security Pension Scheme, but due to lack of mobility support, they have to hire a car to bring the pension. One thousand rupees are spent only on rent. In the era of inflation, it is difficult to afford a house with Rs 1,000. The family has to buy grains and water. Seeing the pitiful condition of the family Surtaram could not stop the tears from his eyes.

The news published in Friday’s issue with the title ‘That black night filled Surtaram’s life with darkness, now he is yearning for help’ drew the attention of the administration towards the family of Surtaram who was living in poverty, but no one from the victim’s family Did not take care. Neighbor Babulal told that the family is worried.
