Nagaur : A case of two brothers-in-law beating their sister-in-law with sticks and rendering her unconscious has come to light in Rohini village of Nagaur Shribalaji police station area. The incident took place on Sunday and after being beaten, the injured woman Pooni Devi (35 years) remained lying on the ground outside the house in an unconscious state for hours. The miscreants did not even allow him to go to the hospital for treatment. When Omaram, the husband who works as a laborer outside, reached the police station the next day on Monday evening with his injured wife, neither the police registered the report given by him nor did he get her medically examined. The husband alleged that she was fatally beaten with sticks. Large red marks and wounds appeared on the woman’s legs, back and other places. When we sent the police team to the house thrice, they started misbehaving under the influence of alcohol. The accused will be arrested after taking the woman’s statement and investigation. Pooni Devi, admitted in the emergency of JLN Hospital, started crying while narrating the incident. While writhing in pain, she showed the marks and wounds of sticks on her body. Said that his brother-in-law Shravan reached his house at around 2 pm on Sunday afternoon and dragged him out. Then he started beating her mercilessly with a stick and kept saying that if he told her husband, he would kill her. Then he picked him up, made him run and continued beating him. Beaten so much that big marks were formed on both his legs. She kept screaming but no one came to save her. Then, to somehow save his life, he tried to hide with his children in the hut of another brother-in-law nearby, but the accused brother-in-law reached there too and then dragged him and beat him.

As long as the accused kept beating her, she became unconscious. The woman told that the accused brother-in-law is still calling her in the hospital and threatening that if she returns home, he will not leave her alive. The injured woman has 5 daughters and a son. To support her, her husband Omaram himself lives in Dantor and works as a laborer in a gypsum factory. In such a situation, his wife Pooni Devi lives at home with her five children.
