Nagaur News Desk: Pollution levels have been increasing in the last few days in major cities of the country including the state. The main reason behind this is the burning of stubble at some places along with the smoke coming out from vehicles along with factories, but there are neither many factories in Nagaur which are emitting large amounts of smoke nor is there any need to burn stubble here. She comes. Despite this, the pollution level (AQI) reached 212 on Thursday. Although the AQI had reached 311 when the fog cleared on Sunday, it fell back to 190 on the very next day. In the last seven days, except Sunday, AQI was below 200, but on Thursday, Nagaur’s AQI reached 212. In view of this, when the Pollution Control Board team searched for the reasons, it came to light that the main reason for increasing pollution level is burning of garbage in the city and dust flying with vehicles on broken roads.
It is noteworthy that there is no system to dispose of thousands of tonnes of waste generated daily from Nagaur city. As soon as the garbage piles up in the dumping yard built on Balwa Road, the workers who dump the garbage burn it. Once the garbage is burnt, including dry and wet waste, smoke continues to rise for several days. There is not much problem during summer, but in winter the smoke remains low and people have trouble breathing. Due to this smoke, AQI is also deteriorating. Actually, there is no garbage disposal system in Nagaur for the last four years, hence when there is too much pile, they burn it.
requested the city council
Thursday’s AQI in Nagaur was recorded at 212, which falls in the poor category. When our team found the reason for increasing pollution level, it came to light that garbage is being burnt here. Besides, the roads are broken at many places in the city, on which vehicles repeatedly run and dust flies, which mixes in the air and spoils it. For this, the Municipal Council Commissioner has been requested that garbage should not be burnt. Apart from this, they are also writing a letter to the District Collector so that the Municipal Council and the people can be banned.

Experts said that in summer, due to wind blowing, smoke or dust flying with vehicles gets blown away, due to which the AQI of the air does not deteriorate much. But during winter, due to less sunlight and frequent fog, dust particles remain in the air. The smoke emanating from burning garbage also remains at the bottom. Due to this the AQI gets spoiled.
