Nagaur EVM under three tier armed security, monitoring with 24 cameras

Nagaur : District Election Officer Arun Kumar Purohit and ADM Champalal Jinagar inspected the counting venue Government Law College on Tuesday regarding the counting of votes for the by-election of Khinvsar Assembly seat. Here all the EVMs are kept under three-tier armed security cordon. Two strong rooms have been made in the college. The District Election Officer reached the Law College along with other officials to check the security arrangements of EVMs and to take stock of the preparations for counting of votes. During this, information was taken regarding necessary arrangements including media centre, counting room, refreshments and security arrangements. Barricading, CCTV cameras and lighting arrangements were seen at the counting venue. Every nook and corner is being monitored here with 24 CCTV cameras. Apart from security forces, two authorized officers have been deployed for the security of EVM machines. Even a bird cannot hit the strong room.

Votes will be counted in 20 rounds

It is noteworthy that voting for Khinvsar by-election was held on November 13, in which 75.88 percent voters cast their votes. Counting of votes is to take place on November 23. For this, the District Election Department is making arrangements for the entry and exit of assembly candidates, polling agents and counting personnel in the Law College. Upazila Election Officer Champalal Jinagar said that there will be 14 tables and 20 rounds for counting of votes. With this, postal ballots will be counted on 4 tables.

Holiday on 23rd in all three colleges of the headquarters

There will be a holiday on November 23 in the District Headquarters Government Law College, Madibai Mirdha Government Women’s College and BR Mirdha Government College. The District Election Officer said that since all three colleges are in the same campus, a holiday has been declared in view of the counting of votes.
