Although the work of soil health testing under the Central Government scheme was completed on March 31, 2019, the farmers did not implement much of the recommendations made in the soil health card by the agricultural scientists after testing the soil. Nor did the Agriculture Department make any special efforts in this direction. In such a situation, the task of reducing the cost of farming and increasing its productivity along with improving the soil has not been completely successful even today.
It is worth noting that the agricultural scientists detected the diseases and quality of the soil by testing the soil samples under the Soil Health Card Scheme, but due to the shortcomings of the scheme and lack of awareness among the farmers, the soil is not being treated even today. . Due to most of the farmers not knowing the importance and importance of the cards, dust is gathering on them. Whereas if the government wants, it can change the picture of farming. This is possible only when farmers are gathered in every village and they are clearly told about the health of their farms. Just accomplishing the goal of distributing cards is nothing more than a waste of paper and money. Experts say that this card will have to be directly linked to reduced consumption of chemical fertilizers and increased yield.
Agriculture expert Dr. Devinder Sharma says that when the Central Government implemented the scheme, the objective should have been to emphasize on organic farming by reducing the use of fertilizers and chemical fertilizers in agriculture, but the same was mentioned in the Soil Health Card.
