Nagaur : Nagaur Women and Child Development and Project Department is not getting a Deputy Director for Nagaur district since last one year. The work is being carried out by handing over the work to officers of other departments. Due to this, not only the activities of Anganwadi centers have been affected, but their inspection has also been put on hold. The charge of Nagaur Deputy Director rests with the Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of the Zilla Parishad. They should handle the work of their parent department or look after the work of Anganwadi. Similarly, the post of Khinvsar, Merta, Degana, Bhainrunda CDPO is also vacant for about three years. The arrangement of more than one and a half thousand Anganwadi centers in the district is dependent on God.
In view of the work arrangement in ICDS, the district has been divided into CDPOs with one Deputy Director and other project areas. The Deputy Director monitors the activities taking place in Anganwadi centers across the district and conducts surprise inspections, but this post is vacant from October 2023. About five months ago, Didwana CDPO was given the charge of Nagaur Deputy Director, but he was removed due to a controversial issue. After that, the charge was handed over to the Additional Chief Executive Officer of Nagaur Zilla Parishad. At that time it was thought that later on at the departmental level, an officer of the department would be appointed as Deputy Director, but this did not happen.
