Nagaur : Nagaur In the name of effective monitoring, due to the poor system of the government and the department, the mining mafia is hollowing out the chest of the earth day and night, but the department is only running paper horses in the name of action. For illegal limestone exploitation, 11 Border Home Guard personnel have been deployed at only three posts, that too without resources. One example of the working style of the department which boasts of taking action from time to time is that illegal mining is taking place in the entire area. There is not even a post there. The responsibility of illegal mining in two dozen villages of Khinvsar area, which has reserves of high quality limestone, is in the hands of only 11 Border Home Guards. Neither the mining department nor the local administration is taking interest in stopping the precious limestone from being exploited day and night illegally, hence the illegal miners are getting free rein. The business of illegally extracting precious minerals without any mining lease has been going on here for years. Despite knowing about this, the mining department is unable to muster the courage to take action due to the influence of influential people, nor has the police administration taken any action.
The government is losing crores of rupees in revenue due to illegal mining. Illegal mining is going on day and night on government land in about two dozen villages of the tehsil area. The government has allotted lease in three villages Bhavanda, Karanu and Tantwas, but on the contrary, about 525 illegal mines are operating in about two dozen villages. Be it broad daylight or dark night, influential miners are busy collecting black gold. Thousands of workers are working day and night with hammers on illegal mines.
