Nagaur : Saturday morning looked something special amid mild winter. Khaki uniformed people were seen on the deserted road, employees/officers going to count the votes and agents hoping for the victory of their respective candidates were seen towards or around the Law College. There was yet to be proper lighting, there was no darkness visible anywhere around College Road. There were barricades at some distance and the police stopping and interrupting. There was silence which was visible far and wide. It was almost the same from Collectorate to Manasar, from College to Mundwa intersection. There was a crowd gathered at some shops along with a few open tea shops. Apart from this, in other areas also, with their eyes wide open, their own guesses were being heard on the lips regarding the election results. Sitting at the tea stall near Manasar bridge, Pandit ji was serving tea to the customers but he would ask whoever came, has the counting started? What is the situation of Maharashtra or Jharkhand elections? It was about to be seven in the morning. Like always, the customers coming here would satisfy Pandit ji in their own way and then join themselves in this election banter.
Same was the condition of the city, the result was also discussed in areas like Gandhi Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Ajmeri Gate, Rathori Kuan etc. At some places they would drink tea and at other places they would eat snacks. Anyway, it was Saturday, government offices were closed, schools and other institutions were also not open due to voting. Most of the private shopkeepers were also in almost a holiday mood. That was also because he was not expecting any patronage during the day and he himself was especially keeping an eye on the results of Khinvsar. This was the condition not only of Nagaur city but also of other towns including Khinvsar, Jayal, Merta.
After twelve-thirteen rounds, the situation started appearing in favor of Revantram Danga, movements started here and there, then the news spread like wildfire that in some school, Danga was in a celebratory mood with his supporters, waiting for the victory. Last year the celebrations had started without the result. This time too, the crowd of people gathered in this school was such that it became difficult to handle. Everyone came here to congratulate in different ways. Former Union Minister CR Choudhary, former MLA Mohanram Choudhary, Dr. Hapuram Choudhary, BJP District President Ramnivas Sankhla and other leaders were also included in this crowd. There was noise of firecrackers here and the crowd of people congratulating was so large that many had to wait for a long time. Then with slogans of victory the procession reached the Law College.
