Nagaur News Desk: Due to private buses and other passenger vehicles operating from around the Nagaur bus stand of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, the daily revenue of Nagaur warehouse is getting affected to the tune of Rs 5 lakh per day. According to the roadways management, even the District Collector and the Transport Department were informed several times regarding the operation of private buses and other light passenger vehicles in and around the bus stand. Information was also given in writing. Even after this, due to no action, the revenue loss figure has crossed Rs 1 crore within a month. This amount is reaching beyond Rs 12 crore in a year. Due to parallel running of private buses and other vehicles on the roadways, the condition of the roadways is getting worse. Due to this, the income of the corporation has started decreasing across the district.

not being given attention

Corporation officials said that private buses are operated from around their main bus stands and booking windows. Where corporation buses are parked for passengers, private buses are parked there. Many times, drivers of private vehicles take passengers sitting in corporation buses and make them sit in their cars. Due to this, there are disputes between the drivers of corporation and private vehicles every day. Private passenger vehicles cannot be operated near roadways bus stands and booking windows. There is no provision for private buses coming from outside to stop near the roadways bus stand. Even after this, they are being operated from in front of and around the central bus stand.

Situation from Mundwa intersection to bus stand

According to the corporation officials, the traffic system gets affected every day due to the whims of private bus operators across the district. The number of private buses standing near the Central Bus Stand from Mundwa Square to Vijayvallab Square is more than five dozen. About a dozen private buses leave for destinations every hour carrying passengers. On Tuesday too, there was a jam in the afternoon at Vijayvallab intersection and Mundwa intersection due to operators of private vehicles. This not only disrupted traffic, it also required a lot of effort to evacuate roadways buses.

Operation of 84 buses from Aagar

About 84 buses are operated from Nagaur Agar. Excluding the contracted buses, the position of the corporation is equal to one-third in proportion to the number of private buses. In many big cities including Nagaur to Ajmer, Jodhpur, Gujarat, Jaipur, five times more private buses are being operated on the roadways bus service route. Corporation officials said that the situation of operating private bus services on the corporation’s routes has worsened. Contrary to the rules, these buses are operating on parallel routes to the roadways.
