Nagaur: Tungsten reserves on Revant hill, if government pays attention, the district will become prosperous.

Nagaur : Presently the reserves of tungsten mineral coming out of Revant hill, located at a distance of just four kilometers from Degana town of Nagaur district, are limited to papers due to the neglect of the government machinery. Despite tungsten being present in huge quantities in the country, it is being imported from other countries. If the government looks into this, not only will the raw material be available but it will also provide employment to dozens of people in Nagaur district. Hundreds of people lost their jobs due to the closure of mining operations on Revant Hill about 26 years ago. Due to unemployment, demand to start mining of tungsten again was raised many times, but the government is not paying any attention towards it. According to experts, Revant Hill is famous all over the world as Tungsten Hill.

Issue raised in Assembly and Parliament also: After becoming MP for the first time, Hanuman Beniwal has also raised this issue in Parliament. Local MLAs Ajay Singh Kilak and Beniwal have also raised this issue in the Assembly. Both the leaders have demanded to start tungsten mining. Diya Kumari, being the MP of Rajsamand, has also raised this matter in the Parliament.then On the instructions of Union Mines Minister Prahlad Joshi, Geological Survey of India (GSI) conducted a survey here in 2017-18 to find the quantity of lithium related minerals in tungsten and found the possibility of finding 1.36 metric tons of tungsten. Along with this, information about the discovery of Lithium reserves at that time also came to light in the survey. After this information was publicized, Revant Dungri became famous all over the world. Mining work has not started till date. If the Central Government starts mining work here, then both the direction and condition of the area will change.
