Nagaur : By-election has been held once again in Khinvsar assembly constituency of Nagaur district. On November 13, 75.66 percent voters of Khinvsar area cast their votes for 12 candidates of the by-election. All EVMs are kept under three-tier security in Nagaur Law College. Two strong rooms have been made in Nagaur Law College. After the voting held on November 13 in Khinvsar, the EVMs of Khinvsar assembly constituency have been kept under special security arrangements in the Law College of Nagaur District Headquarters. Today, to ensure security arrangements and preparations for counting of votes, District Election Officer Arun Kumar Purohit, District Police Superintendent Narayan Togas, Upazila Election Officer Champalal Jinagar and ASP Sumit Kumar reached Law College. Here along with him various other officials discussed the arrangements.
District Election Officer Arun Kumar Purohit said that adequate lighting and barricading arrangements are being made at the counting site. Arrangements are being made for entry and exit of assembly candidates, polling agents and counting personnel. All the arrangements will be completed on the morning of 22nd November. For the by-election of Khinvsar assembly seat, there is a contest between a total of 12 candidates including Dr. Ratan Choudhary from Congress, Kanika Beniwal from Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, Revantram Danga from Bharatiya Janata Party. Apart from the major parties, Kishnaram from Rashtriya Janmandal Party, Bhimratan and Jagdish from Bharatiya Rakshak Party (Democratic), Omprakash Sain, Jaitaram, Nemichand, Rajkumar, Rakesh and Rambabu are in the fray.
Upazila Election Officer Champalal Jinagar said that EVM machines have been kept safe in the Law College of the district headquarters. 19 tables have been installed in the counting room, one of which is RO table, EVM votes will be counted on 14 tables and postal ballots will be counted on 4 tables. Armed personnel are deployed for three-tier security of EVM machines. Apart from this, every nook and corner is being monitored with 24 CCTV cameras. Apart from the security forces, the duty of two authorized officers has been imposed to protect the EVM machines till the counting of votes. No one is allowed to go towards the strong room. Before the counting of votes, the counting team personnel will be given training. District Superintendent of Police Narayan Togas said that armed policemen of Rajasthan Police are deployed first on the outer front to protect the EVM machines. Complete information of every person including the police and administration officers and employees going inside is written along with the time. After this, armed RAC soldiers are deployed in the second security circle. Just outside the strong room closest to the EVMs, there is a guard of armed security personnel of BSF. These soldiers are equipped with modern weapons.
