History of Nahargarh Fort

This fort was built in the year 1734 during the reign of Jai Singh and was later expanded in the year 1868. Nahargarh means the abode of tigers. This fort was specially built to protect Jaipur from enemy attacks. Earlier the name of this fort was Sudarshangarh but later this fort was named after Yuvraj Nahar Singh who was killed at this place.
