Namaz offered peacefully in Shahi Jama Masjid: Zafar Ali

Sambhal, 29 November (IANS). After the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, a large number of people from the Muslim community reached Shahi Jama Masjid to offer Friday prayers on Friday. During this period, the district administration remained on alert mode and police forces were deployed at every nook and corner.

Shahi Jama Masjid President Zafar Ali said that prayers were offered here. No one is being stopped. The police and administration have made complete arrangements to ensure peace and harmony. We are also working continuously, so that everything happens peacefully. The entire committee of Shahi Jama Masjid is involved and we are working with the police and administration to ensure peaceful prayers. There is no question of unrest or disturbance here.

He has said that on Thursday we had appealed to the people that those who offer namaz in the mosque near their homes can offer Friday namaz there. We did not appeal to anyone that they cannot come to Shahi Jama Masjid to offer Friday prayers. How many people have come to Shahi Jama Masjid to offer namaz. Its data will be released later.

Let us tell you that on Thursday, Samajwadi Party MLA Iqbal Mahmood had told IANS that I will appeal to the people of my community that this week they can offer Friday prayers in the mosque near their house instead of Jama Masjid. If tomorrow passes, peace and tranquility will once again be restored in Sambhal.

It is noteworthy that the report of Sambhal Jama Masjid survey was to be presented in the District Court on 29th November. But, the report has not been submitted. The report will now be presented on December 8. The next hearing of the case will be on January 8.
