Tonk : As part of National AIDS Day Week programme, a drama was organized by the students of Nursing Department today. The objective of the program was to provide correct information about AIDS in the society and remove misconceptions related to this subject. The main objective of the play was to make people sensitive and aware about this serious disease. Through the drama, the students gave the message that AIDS is not a crime, rather it is a disease which can be treated and can be avoided only with wisdom and caution. The students emphasized on changing the negative perceptions towards AIDS.
Professor Dr. Chakrapani Chaturvedi of Banasthali Vidyapeeth said that the Central and State Governments have jointly run the National AIDS Control Program for the prevention of AIDS. Under this National AIDS Program, the general public can get free blood test, saliva test and RPR test etc. for AIDS and the entire treatment is also free, if there is a need, then our general public participation can take this information to reach more and more people of the society. And urged to contribute in building a healthy India. AIDS awareness rally, slogan writing program and street play were organized by the nursing faculty in Niwai and Jhilai CHC. There will be a quiz competition on AIDS and a lecture and prize distribution program on AIDS on 5th. Work is being done to make people aware by organizing different programs.
