Jaipur : Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jaipur Zonal Unit has exposed a drug supply network near Manipal University in Dahami Kalan area of the capital. In this action that took place on the night of 30th November and 1st December, 123.8 grams of banned narcotic Mephedrone (MD) was seized and female smuggler Kavita Gurjar was arrested. The value of the seized drugs in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh.

This action was taken under the leadership of NCB Zonal Director Ghanshyam Soni under the Narco-Free Campus initiative. The arrested woman had packed Mephedrone in small sachets, which were planned to be distributed in and around the university campus. A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

NCB had received intelligence about drug smuggling and sale near the university. The accused woman, resident of Dahami Kalan, was kept under surveillance for several days, after which action was taken. Bagru Police also cooperated in this operation, which included security and logistics support. NCB is investigating the drug supply network in depth, identifying the entire smuggling chain and other persons involved in this network.
