Alwar : Thousands of migrant laborers work in the industrial city Bhiwadi. The Central Government had started ESIC Hospital in Bhiwadi city in the year 2011 to provide better treatment to these migrant labourers, but even after 14 years, the working class here is not getting its full benefits. The inhuman face of ESIC Hospital came to light on Sunday, when a pregnant woman was not admitted for delivery. The pregnant woman was turned away saying she was from the district hospital. District hospital doctor Shiv Kumar Gupta told that a woman named Manisha had come to the district hospital for delivery. She had a normal delivery here, but after delivery the woman’s health deteriorated. After which the woman was treated in time. One unit of blood was transfused to the woman. The woman’s husband Rakesh Kumar told that he had taken her to ESIC hospital for delivery on Sunday evening. After making him wait for an hour, the employees there asked him to go to Alwar and asked him to leave.
After which the doctors who brought the woman to the district hospital conducted a normal delivery. This is not the first case when a woman suffering from labor pain has been sent away from the hospital. Even before this, many cases have come to the notice of ESIC Hospital. In the month of September, a woman suffering from labor pain was being referred to Alwar, but at the same time she gave birth to a child on a bench in the hospital premises. No hospital employee handled the woman for about 15 minutes. Later a nurse took care of the woman and the family took her to the district hospital. Where after admission she gave birth to a child. Operation theater locked, referrals even for normal delivery, no operations of any kind are being conducted in ESIC hospital of Bhiwadi since last one year. In such a situation, the purpose of the hospital, i.e. to provide free treatment to the workers, is being dashed on the ground. The operation theater present in the hospital has equipment worth about Rs 20-25 lakh, which is now being converted into junk.
There are three digital X-ray machines in the hospital, which are gradually turning into junk. The price of these three machines is around Rs 25 lakh. At the same time, many machines for other general tests have also been lying closed for a long time. Due to closure of the machines, the patients coming here have to resort to private labs even for minor tests.
