After a verbal order from Jodhpur : Roadways Headquarters, all the booking and reservation counters operating at Jodhpur Bus Stand have been closed for the last two days. There are five ticket counters and one reservation counter. All are closed. In such a situation, advance booking is not being done at the bus stand. Now passengers have to either book tickets online or travel by taking tickets in the bus itself. The situation is that due to the counter being closed without any prior notice, the passengers coming to the bus stand are forced to wander here and there due to lack of information. In this regard, a call was made to Chief Manager of Jodhpur Depot, Mukan Singh, but he did not pick up the phone.
The ticket given by the conductor does not have a seat number.
After closing of ticket counters on roadways, passengers are facing new problems while giving tickets in buses. Seat numbers are not mentioned in the tickets that the conductors are giving from the machine in the bus. In such a situation, if a passenger is boarding the bus after making an online booking, then the person sitting earlier on that seat has to give up his seat. Due to this, disputes are arising among the passengers regarding seats.
There will be disputes regarding first come first serve
Due to the closure of the counter, the queue there will end, but there will be disputes among the passengers regarding sitting on the seat. Due to non-confirmation of seats, women, children and elderly people will face the most problems. Whoever boards the bus first will occupy the seat.
Fear of fraud, loss of revenue…
The government will fear increased corruption along with revenue loss. Everything will be in the hands of the staff. Cases like traveling in buses by paying less for tickets and taking direct money may come to light.
Will protest: Passengers will face problems due to stopping booking at the central bus stand. Want to push roadways towards privatization. They oppose handing over the booking to private hands and if necessary, the employees will be forced to agitate.
