New Delhi, November 28 (IANS). A hearing regarding ‘Ayushman Bharat Yojana’ was held in Delhi High Court on Thursday. During the hearing, the court has given notice to the Delhi government. Now the next hearing in this case will be on December 11.

Let us tell you that Ayushman Bharat scheme is proving to be a boon for poor people. Under this scheme, people can get free treatment worth Rs 5 lakh annually. This scheme has been expanded. Under which now even elderly people above 70 years of age can avail the benefits of this scheme. But, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi does not want to implement this scheme. Delhi government says that in exchange for this scheme, people are being given better treatment in the hospitals of Delhi.

Due to which the people of Delhi are deprived of the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. All seven BJP MPs have approached the Delhi High Court regarding this.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said that all the seven MPs from Delhi have approached the Delhi High Court. Because Ayushman Bharat Yojana, a public welfare scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, provides free healthcare to every beneficiary family with a health cover of Rs 5 lakh per year. From October 29, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has significantly increased the dimensions of this scheme. Now elderly people above 70 years of age have also been included in this scheme. However, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has not implemented this scheme due to the divisive politics of Arvind Kejriwal.

Seven MPs from Delhi went to court. Today the court took cognizance of this. The central government is ready to give Rs 47 crore annually to the Delhi government. Now this case will be heard on December 11.

Bansuri Swaraj posted on social media platform X. In the post, he has written that the stubbornness and political selfishness of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has deprived the citizens of the capital of the world’s largest public welfare scheme, Ayushman Bharat Scheme. Even the Delhi High Court strongly reprimanded this and remarked that rejecting the health insurance scheme of up to Rs 5 lakh is an injustice to the public. The priority of the Delhi government is not the welfare of the public, but its own selfish political agenda. When will the people of Delhi finally get their rights?
