Jhalawar : Jhalawar Nearly 12 years after the burning of the district’s historical heritage Rain Basera, the Rain Basera will be seen again in its old form. But due to some delay in work, the hope of reopening the Rain Basera for the general public on 12.12.2024 does not seem to be being fulfilled. Although it is being built by the Public Works Department. But the problem the authorities are facing is that it is taking time to install tiles and many other things to give the rain shelter its original look. Tiles etc. also have to be imported from outside. Sources said that the rain shelter will be made of cement concrete from outside but from inside it is being shaped in its old form. For this, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation Limited, Jaipur has released a budget of Rs 2 crore 66 lakh. But Rs 1 crore 40 lakh has been sanctioned for its civil work, the remaining work will be done by the Electrical Branch. In such a situation, soon in the new year the people of the district will get to see Rain Basera which will be a unique building for the city.
ready on so many pillars
Assistant Engineer of Public Works Department, Chintu Yadav, who is looking after the work of reconstruction of Rain Basera, said that its structure has been ready on 25 pile foundation and 25 pillars. It has been designed in such a way that it will not only be strong but will also last for a long time. There will be wooden work on every pillar. Also, there will be wooden work everywhere on the walls, false ceiling and inside. So that it will appear the same as before. For wooden work, such wood will be used which does not spoil for a long time and whose shine remains. Besides, its roof has also been designed like the old rain shelter.
that’s why it’s taking time
A similar design is being made to look like a wooden rain shelter. Tiles etc. are being selected in the same manner, so that it looks the same as before. At the same time, due to budget not coming for two-three months and contractor’s bills not being paid on time, the work is getting delayed.
Demand to install garden and sundial
Social workers of the city and officials of the Tourism Development Committee have demanded to develop a garden and install a sundial in Rain Basre. So that this unique thing also attracts the people coming here.
