Jaipur : Jaipur The continuous cold wind and falling mercury has increased the cold. The mercury is continuously falling in the capital, the cold winds have increased the chill and melting. The mercury in the city has fallen by 6.2 degrees Celsius in 5 days and the minimum temperature came down to 6.8 degrees last night. On the night of December 7, the minimum temperature was recorded at 13.0 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees more than normal. The minimum temperature is now 2.9 degrees below normal. Even during the day, due to cold wind, it was recorded at 23.0 degrees, which is 2.2 degrees less than normal.
Cold wind will blow for 4-5 days: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of cold wave in 11 cities including the capital Jaipur. Due to continuous cold winds blowing from the northern areas, there is little chance of respite from the harsh cold for 4-5 days. The day and night temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, cold wave conditions will continue and the cold will increase.
Night shelters started being built… Malviya Nagar, Jekelon Hospital, Ramniwas Bagh, Gandhinagar, Railway Station, 200 Feet Bypass, Vidyadhar Nagar, Transport Nagar, Khasakothi Pulia, Parmanand Hall, Sahakar Marg, C-Scheme, 50 feet at Hasanpura Pulia. Temporary night shelters with up to 100 beds are being built. 11 Rain shelters will start from 15th December.

What’s next: There are chances of severe cold for two weeks. From 15th to 21st December, day and night temperature will remain below normal and cold wave will prevail. The mercury is expected to go below 5 degrees in the last week.
