Temperature fluctuations continue in Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer. The day temperature is not falling. Due to the temperature being between 14 to 15 degrees at night, the effect of cold is severe at night. The weather in the district remains clear during the day and there is cold in the morning and night. The effect of cold is stronger in the canal areas of Nachana, Mohangarh and Ramgarh as compared to the city. People are seen trying hard to escape the cold. People are also seen resorting to bonfires to escape the early morning cold. The Meteorological Department has predicted clear weather in Jaisalmer district for the next four days. Along with this, the effect of cold is expected to increase in the first week of December.
winter is not catching up
As the effect of cold winds coming from Northern India subsides, the temperature has crossed 31 degrees. Because of this, one is feeling hot during the day. However, the night temperature has been between 14 to 15 degrees for 6 days. This has the effect of cold at night. There has been no drop in the maximum temperature for the last 4 days. Because of this, winter is not able to gain momentum. On Sunday, the day and night mercury dropped by 0.3 degrees. The maximum temperature was recorded at 31.2 degrees and the minimum temperature was 14.9 degrees.
Weather favorable for farmers
When the weather becomes favourable, farmers have started sowing Rabi crops. This time Rabi crops are to be sown in 4.84 hectares. Due to no rain in October, the effect of heat had intensified. Because of this, some farmers had sown Rabi crops. But she got burnt. Those farmers are also sowing again now. Agricultural meteorologist Atul Galav has advised farmers to do light sowing of crops to maintain moisture in the fields.
Cold will increase in the first week of December

The effect of winter is likely to increase in the first week of December. Till the last days of November, the day temperature is likely to remain between 30 to 34 degrees and the night temperature is likely to remain between 14 to 16 degrees. After that, the temperature will drop due to the increasing effect of cold winds coming from North India. Due to which the effect of winter will intensify.
