Udaipur : For the first time in Rajasthan, the army was called to control a man-eating animal. The army neither fired a bullet nor shed blood… With this special trick, not one but two man-eaters were controlled. Both of them did not even know when they were trapped in the cage. One of them had eaten three people in two days. The incident is of Gogunda Gram Panchayat Ilko of Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The army has controlled two panthers from here. The panther killed 3 people in 2 days within a radius of 5 km. Due to which an atmosphere of fear was created among the villagers.
People heaved a sigh of relief after both the panthers were caught
Gogunda SDM Naresh Soni said that two panthers were captured in the forest department’s cage in Umaria village on Monday night. Water with the smell of meat and fish was kept in these cages, due to which the panthers came into the cage. The villagers heaved a sigh of relief because now they felt safe.
One of the two panthers is old
According to Chief Forest Conservator Sunil Chhedri, one of the captured panthers is old and does not have canine teeth. Due to this, it was unable to hunt and found it easy to attack humans. The possibility of this old panther killing 3 people is also being discussed. Both panthers have been brought to Sajjangarh Biological Park in Udaipur. After coming into the cage, they were struggling, due to which they have suffered minor injuries. Veterinary doctors will treat them and once they are healthy, the forest department will take a decision about their care.
The army adopted this special trick to catch panthers
The panther attacks started on September 20, when a 50-year-old woman was killed. The forest department took panther pugmarks on the spot and then set up 3 cages. The rescue team constantly monitored the panther’s movements, which eventually led to the capture of both panthers. Several forest department and army teams were involved in this operation. The army team had sprinkled fish and fish-smelling water around the forest area and cages, due to this smell the panther got trapped in the cage.
