New Delhi, December 9 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday praised the successful landing at the Noida International Airport being built in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, and said that this will improve connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier on Monday afternoon, at around 1.30 pm, the Indigo plane made a successful landing at Noida airport and took off five minutes later. Civil Aviation Minister K. who was present on the spot. Rammohan Naidu later made a post on social media platform X giving information about this achievement.
Sharing the minister’s post, PM Modi wrote in a post on “It is taking several steps to harness the power of connectivity to drive prosperity.”
Rammohan Naidu, in a post on Twitter, described the first successful test flight at Noida airport as “a major milestone” in the development of this state-of-the-art infrastructure. He said that this airport will revolutionize regional connectivity and play an important role in the expansion of the country’s aviation sector.
Rammohan Naidu said the airport will enhance economic growth, create new opportunities and improve connectivity, thereby strengthening India’s position as a global aviation hub.
An aircraft landed for the first time at Noida airport on Monday. The flight arriving from Delhi was given a water cannon salute. This trial run will continue till December 15. Crew members, Airport Authority of India and airport technical staff were present in the plane, who were collecting complete technical data from take off to landing.
85 percent work of the airport has been completed. It is believed that the first commercial flight will take off from here in April 2025. CAT-1 and CAT-3 equipment has been installed which helps in landing and take off in low visibility conditions. The length of the runway here is 3,900 meters.
It is noteworthy that 85 percent of the work of the first phase of this airport being built on 1,334 hectares has been completed. However, the entire airport will be constructed in four phases on 6,500 hectares.
This airport is being constructed by Swiss company Zurich International. The company will also operate this airport for 40 years. The annual capacity of the first phase is 1.2 crore passengers.
