Dausa : A ban has been imposed on the sale of meat and fish in view of the holy festival of Navratri in Dausa district of Rajasthan. This decision will be effective from October 3 to October 12, 2024. Navratri is an important festival in Hindu religion, in which nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. During this time devotees consume special type of pure food.
It is believed that the festival of Navratri is celebrated from morning till night. Devotees keep coming and going in the temples. A large number of devotees keep fast. Stay away from Tamasic food like meat, mandira and other food. Even in the scriptures, there is importance of remaining pure and clean during fasting and fasting. Keeping all these reasons in mind, this decision has been taken this time. This is the first time that orders have been issued to keep these shops closed for such a long period. In the order issued by Mahwa Municipality, it has been said that meat and fish shops will remain closed for the entire ten days. Strict action will be taken against shopkeepers who break the law or do not follow orders and if necessary, even an FIR will be lodged. This case is under Section 232 of the Municipal Act 2009. And FIR will be registered under section 233. It is believed that this order has currently been issued for one municipal area, but in view of this, such orders can be implemented in other places also.
